What Is The Difference Between Deep Tissue Massage And Sports Massage?

Deep tissue massage and sports massage both involve focused therapeutic techniques, but they serve different purposes. Deep tissue massage primarily targets chronic muscle tension and knots, using firm pressure to release tightness and alleviate pain. It's beneficial for those with chronic pain or limited mobility.
In contrast, sports massage is designed for athletes and active individuals. It combines various techniques to enhance performance, prevent injuries, and aid in post-event recovery. Sports massage includes stretching, friction, and deep strokes to improve flexibility, reduce muscle soreness, and address specific issues related to sports activities. It's geared towards optimizing athletic performance and addressing sport-specific concerns rather than solely treating chronic tension.
